Still No Photos

Since, now nearly a month I am still yet to reveal my beautiful Vivienne I received for my birthday on the blog. One excuse is that I only actually put her on for the first time New Years Eve. Although I may have only managed to get one ridiculously quick cropped slightly blurred photo, I felt like a grecian rockstar.

My mum was questioning me when I was planning to wear her for the first time, worry in her voice that I never might. The delay in her debut however, was wanting to take her out for the first time on a special night. In retrospect, I wish I had planned more time in order to take photos to savour the moment forever.

My Vivienne for sure will be coming out of my wardrobe for great nights out god knows how many times in the future, so hopefully one day I will be organised enough to capture it on camera properly.

Yesterday I ticked something off my bucket list. My birthday is in two weeks and Mum came to London to take me somewhere for my birthday present. Having not a clue what was going on, I headed down a side road just off of Regents Street with my Mother. As we walked past the likes of Maison Martin Margiela, Mum stopped and announced "here we are!". I looked up to see Vivienne Westwood shining in neon pink lights.

Overwhelmed by what was going on, Mum dragged me into the shop and casually just said "so get looking then".

Sorry... what??? Is probably the best way to describe the look on my face. So unexpected I wanted to die. I was literally in heaven. The clothes, the fabrics, the shop, the pictures of Viv.... Ahhhhhhh. After trying on items of clothing I only dream of wearing, I made my choice. The piece is currently sitting in it's sealed pale pink bag staring at me. It's gonna be a long two weeks I tell ya.

I feel truly spoilt by my amazing crazy parents. First a Vivienne purse and now this! I finally have my first designer item of clothing which I will treasure for the rest of my life. I can not wait to blog my first wear of this piece.

Don't I just have the best Mumma in the world!! As I said I have been getting into my beauty stuff a lot recently, and want to start improving my own make-up both looks, as well as the make-up itself. I have always been a MAC cosmetics lover, using their studio fix powder for god knows how long.

I don't know about anyone else, but I hardly ever wear eyeshadow. I usually just stick to the convenience of  my small Clinique set I got as part of a birthday gift one year. With presents and freebies from internships, I have a lot of random make-up including a lot of individual eye shadows. But with them not all being together where I can see them, most get left untouched and lonely in a draw. 

However, my blog following addiction has presented me with these goodies, after I showed my Mum Shirely B. Eniang's purchases in her recent video. Mum and I both agreed that having all your eye shadows collected in big palettes was a perfect idea. Little did I know my mum would come back from London the next day with one for me, as a Valentines gift! Crazy lady! I am spoilt rotten!

So basically, MAC allows you to buy the plastic see through palettes, and then choose what inserts you would like (eg. eyeshadow holders or blushers etc..). Mother, as you can see brought me the eyeshadow insert, and my first two eyeshadows to start off my collection! Being a rather expensive investment, I will collect new eyeshadows as and when I have the money. I'm literally in love and can not wait to try out my first two colours. Mum, went for a pale cream neutral, which I can use as a base, and then a shimmery pink so I can add some colour. I know it is a pretty pricey way to do things, but so much more practical. Plus quality always costs more, that's why I am willing to invest in the prices of MAC products.

First day back at Uni after my lovely time at home during the Christmas break. I'm a home baby, so had a little cry not wanting to return to the dreaded likes of Worthing. It's not the living away from home that gets me, it's the stress of uni life and work. We have a ridiculous amount of deadlines all put one after the other within the space of less than a month. Thanks Northbrook once again. 

Right, moan over. Lets move onto more positive talk. For Christmas and my birthday I got some beauts new pieces that I am still behind on blogging about. My brother got me this ring for my birthday and these silver hoops for xmas, bless his cottons! I have decided I want both my hands covered in rings, so this new addition was perfect. I loved how it was in keeping with my other two, plain silver with a texture to it. As for the hoop earrings, I literally have one pair of nice silver studs and all the others can't be worn for more than a day before making your ears green, so I was despo in need of some new variations. 

Originally, I asked my auntie for that amaze green crocodile clutch bag I blogged about in my recent wishlist. But of course, two days after my auntie ordered it, she receives an email telling her it was out of stock!! I was so annoyed but had to get on the hunt for a new pressie. With nothing really popping out to me within the price range, I half heartedly picked out this black jumper dress from H&M. I have to admit I thought it was just a jumper, but I loved the fact that it was long enough to wear as a dress. It's a great casual piece that you can just throw on with ease and not too much worry.

Zara-d up

So on Friday I mays well have been a mannequin in a Zara shop window. Top, skirt, jacket and bag all from one of my most favourite shops, Zara.

All received as presents from either the boyf Richard or the rents. I'm too spoilt!!

The shoes the only item not from Zara, are Topshop another present received for Christmas from Richard.

Birthday Presents

So on the 5th it was my 20th birthday. Which I moaned and moaned about as I had to work 8hours in my hairnet in the Morrison's cafe. The only highlight of my actual birthday being when I got home and stuffed my face with pancakes, of course smothered in Nutella. As well as opening a couple of cards and presents.

The boyf not being able to be there on my actual birthday sent me the new Rihanna CD, writing inside the card "reason for the CD at least you can spend some quality listening time with the other love of your life." Ah he knows me too well.

As well as the CD and a couple of cheeky and much appreciated cheques, I also got this lovely necklace from Bethy. I had been saying how much I need some new jewellery so I was loving this!!

On Thursday night Richard came and surprised me by turning up at my flat (best boyfriend EVER)! Which was a big enough present in itself, however he came bearing more gifts...

As I had mentioned in one of my previous "Wishlist" post, I have been really wanting a Moleskin notebook. So Richard made this one from scratch! He binded it and everything himself, personalising it with my initials on the front and name on the first page inside. I can not wait to start using this.

He also brought me this blazer from Zara, which every time I go into the shop I try on and have been lusting over and blogging about. And finally it is mine!

Then at the weekend we went to my aunty Sue's for an early family xmas dinner, where I saw Mother, Father and Samuel.

Samuel got me these earrings saying he brought them as he thought they would compliment my hair. Which I suppose they do. Really love these as my earring collection is extremely minimal and I dont have any dangly ones. 

Helen West Jewellers, Brixworth

Mother and Father got me another moleskin, Clinique moisturisers and a gorgeous Zara bag. Due to now having two moleskins I have decided I'l have the one mother and father got me in my handbag for notes and general use and the one Rich got me as more of a scrap book. Love them both.

As for the moisturisers, any one know me well will know I have terribly dry skin, but recently have had bad trouble with it on my eyes due to stress and this blocked tear ducts which means my eyes have been constantly itchy and dry. SO this moisturiser was needed. I have been using all 3, the Moisture Surge Intense on my eyelids where the skin is driest, the All About Eyes Rich around the lower eyes as it helps puffiness, and then the Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion on the rest of my face. It sounds a bit over the top but I tells you now my skin is feeling pretty silky smooth!

And the bag! I love it, although no over the shoulder strap the straps are still big enough to fit over your shoulder. It is also sturdy and a big enough size to fit my laptop and folders in comfortably, so will be great for uni.

I am extremely spoilt but I love everything i got and am very thankful!

I have set up myself a LookBook.nu account, which I have added to the side bar of my blog, so I am hoping to get into that and show off wearing some of my new items.

Balmain! Pierre Balmain!

So I got back after a hard days grafting at Uni, sat on my bed to ponder about life while taking a sip of my blackcurrant squash (extremely weak and drank always through a straw).
Whilst pondering I looked at my handbag, (a beautiful black Topshop number) a christmas present from the rents, when I noticed the scarf that I attached to the bag myself had THIS written on it!!.....
Pierre Balmain! Well blow me sideways!
This silk scarf (one of four he brought me), was one of my birthday presents from the boyf. And only now, 3months after I have realised. Thank god I found it again after it fell off in the Morrison's car park and was still there after I had done my shopping. Just shows how ignorantly oblivious I am sometimes. Actually adored this scarf anyway but now its just even more loved.
